Mel Brooks – The funny face of farce.
In the world entire, there are only eleven privileged members inhabiting the rarefied environs of the EGOT club. These are the unique entertainers who have won the Emmy, the Grammy, the Oscar and the Tony award – also called the Grand Slam of show business. Mel Brooks is one of them.
He has written produced, directed and acted in satires and parodies on every major genre in film history, from silent to sci-fi. Three weeks before his 87th birthday (28 June), he became the latest recipient of the 41st AFI Lifetime Achievement award. And he is still an active professional.
Linked below is a tribute to him published in the June 2013 issue of American Film magazine. And salutations to Mel Brooks from filmkailm.com
